Troy, MI – Perry Johnson, Republican presidential candidate and third place finisher in CPAC’s straw poll, released the following statement on Tuesday slamming the Justice Department’s plea deal with Hunter Biden:
“The Justice Department’s sweetheart deal with President Biden’s son, Hunter, over felony gun charges and potential tax evasion exposes a glaring disparity in our nation’s justice system in which high-profile Democrats are exempt from punishment. While the agency continues its politically-motivated assault on former President Trump, federal prosecutors have let Hunter Biden off with little more than a symbolic slap on the wrist. The only solution to the Justice Department’s deep corruption is a top-to-bottom overhaul.”
Johnson has previously called for the elimination of the FBI in its entirety and a top-to-bottom overhaul of the Justice Department.
