Outsider Businessman Is Now On Track To Make Debate Stage In August

Troy, MI – Perry Johnson, Republican candidate for president and second place finisher in Turning Point USA’s Action Summit straw poll, has crossed the halfway threshold for donor support in an effort to make the August debate stage.

On Wednesday, the Johnson campaign announced it had earned support from more than 23,000 campaign donors, additionally gaining support from more than 200 donors across twenty states, checking off one of the Republican National Committee’s debate stage requirements.

Johnson said, “As the outsider of outsiders and a guy with a plan to cut the bloat from government, the Republican establishment doesn’t want me in Washington – but voters and caucus-goers do. Our national debt has spiraled out of control, crushing American families and preventing them from getting ahead. My Two-Cents Plan continues to resonate with people, and I am appreciative of everyone who has donated to my campaign.

“Every day we continue to gain hundreds of new donors, and I firmly believe I will meet the RNC requirements and be on the August debate stage at this pace.”

Johnson has hosted and attended more than 100 events across Iowa and New Hampshire since he began his campaign in March, traveling weekly to both early states in an effort to share his Two-Cents Plan to Save America and win voters and caucus-goers over.

He will host a free event for all campaign donors in Des Moines on August 12, featuring a live performance by country music artists Big and Rich.

Johnson earned 1 percent of support in a Monmouth University poll released on Tuesday.

As his campaign continues to gain momentum and continues to garner attention for meeting the requirements to make the debate stage in August, it’s time for state and national pollsters to take notice.

Johnson’s significant investment, experienced campaign infrastructure and support in the polls when he’s included indicate he’s going to be a strong contender moving forward and a serious player in the early states.
